A pleasant and surprising experience !!

Kajuru was quite a pleasant find in Northern Nigeria, Kaduna State precisely. It has a very interesting story behind it and it is a beautiful piece of architecture and engineering. I would recommend you plan a hike in the morning while you are there. It rounds off the experience beautifully. 
On the downside, the managers need to keep the facilities in good order and replace old ones as a number of air conditioners weren't functional. You can actually keep the authenticity of the place while ensuring that equipment works. Overall it is a worthwhile experience!..

Kajuru Castle..
is a luxury Medieval-German style villa, built over 3 decades ago located in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The villa is designed with bedrooms modeled after dungeons and several towers with crenellated walls. The medieval theme is seen throughout the castle, it even has a portcullis (the vertically closing gate) with a crocodile pit.
The castle includes a guest tower with 4 rooms and the main building with a knights’ hall and a master suite ( also known as the “landlord’s residence “). There’s an outdoor swimming pool for cooling off on hot days and a barbeque spot right by the pool. From the pool area and most of the castle windows, you will enjoy a fascinating view of the surrounding mountains and inselbergs. The Castle also has its own Sauna!.

The rich elites live in luxury while the poor illiterates live in abject poverty and misery.

Kajuru Castle...
is a private property, so entry is exclusively by booking. Also, only the complete facility can be rented out. The Castle is a great place for a romantic getaway, maybe even a honeymoon. No wonder it is a popular pre-wedding shoot location. The capacity of the Castle is up to 150 guests, but if you wish to be the most comfortable, you may want to keep your numbers below 13. Kajuru castle is definitely a great place to host elite events or a group vacation.

History of Kajuru Castle..

Though it may look like it, Kajuru Castle is not an old monument. It was built in 1978 by a German expatriate who lived in Kaduna. Some say his name was Burg Heinrichswalde, while others believe Gerhard Heubrer owns Kajuru Castle. Whoever built the castle, it is a sight to behold. There are beliefs that the castle’s owner was deported during the Ibrahim Babangida Administration.
Built with meter thick granite stone to reflect the medieval Bavarian theme, it took five years to complete its turrets, armory and dungeon.

Nigeria is practically filled with beautiful castles but Kajuru Castle is very unique and medieval, and it inspires awe. The castle is a magnificent fort, located at Kajuru village in Kaduna State. You don’t need to travel abroad to see a castle built in a German style and set upon elevated peak with towers and bartizans reaching to the sky. Kajuru Castle has everything to make your holiday enjoyable and memorable such as stainless swimming pool, sauna, barbecue spot, well-equipped and beautifully furnished accommodation facilities. For the 24-hour or weekend packages, the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated per time is five couples or 12 individuals, a function of the limited number of rooms. Once there are 10 or 12 people on the guest list, the castle is locked down for the period of their stay and no other guests can be admitted until the occupants leave.
