• Police arrest Air Force officer, 34 other suspects for kidnap, robbery in Rivers

A 40-year-old man has terminated the life of his sick elder brother in order to avoid incurring medical bills.The incident occurred at Ugwuagbo Inyi village in Igbo-Eze North Local council of Enugu State.

The incident was said to have thrown the sleepy and calm village of Inyi into a state of shock and sorrow. The dastardly act took place on August 3, 2018.Enugu State police command spokesman, Superintendent Ebere Amaraizu, confirming the story said: “It was gathered that one Raphael Izuchukwu believed to be about 40 years from Ugwuagbo Inyi village in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu had on that fateful day killed his elder brother identified as one Chizoba Ogbonna, believed to be about 46 years old and went ahead to bury him.

“Full scale investigations have commenced as the suspect is now helping the police operatives in their investigations. Revelation from suspect had it that he actually killed and buried his brother in the early hours of the said day.

“On why he killed and buried his brother, suspect further revealed that the brother has been sick and that he can no longer bear the cost of his treatment and as a result, killed and buried him. But through intelligence information, the police operatives apprehended him.” Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has arrested an Air Force personnel and 34 others suspected to be involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday. He disclosed that the hoodlums were arrested at different locations in the state, following tip off to the command.

According to the police boss, 11 of the suspects were arrested for kidnapping, 14 for armed robbery and three for cultism. One of the kidnap suspects was identified as Wisdom Tennyson, an Air Force officer attached to 407 Air Combat Training Group, Kainji.

The suspect was arrested at a guesthouse, off Bitter Leaf Road, Trans-Amadi, after abducting and raping the victim. Also paraded were Kingsley Nwala, Godbless Ogue and Chukwudi Achor, who confessed to have been the killers of an operative of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS), Inspector Ada Uche, attached to Etche office of outfit. The state police boss warned criminals to “repent, relocate or face justice”, adding that it has not been easy to keep faith to the position, in battling hoodlums in Rivers.

The elder brother was just too wicked. Heal en no gree, Die en no gree na to incur debts for the young man. Now he was not even given a befitting burial. Only God knows the part of hell he will be in now.
