I bought a new mtn modem recently (the old one was stolen) and i noticed an ugly trend
It disconnects sometimes
Sometimes i'd be browsing and when i check i'd see that my modem is blinking which means it has disconnected
Its usually worse at night
Does it happen to you also, or did i buy a faulty modem

By the way i saw a card (Qualification card) in my modem pack, what does it mean?

Yeah, mine does d same sometimes, dont knw if it's majorly a network or modem thingy.

I usually overcome it by going to "Network Connections" on my pc, rt click "MTN 3G" and under "Properties" and the "Options" tab, uncheck all d boxes except "Prompt for phone number" and "Redial if line is dropped". u can fill in 5 in "Redial attempts" field. NB: i use Win XP, others might differ.

So the computer automatically reconnects if the modem disconnects. Always connect using, "Network Connections" , rt click "MTN 3G" and "Connect", (i.e. minimize the MTN interface when it pops up) cos d MTN interface always resets these settings to the default b4 u changed them.

Hope this at least makesd problem less annoying

Thnx!!! Made a small inclusion error there, uncheck "Prompt for phone number" too so it wont pop up anytime it disconnects, it'll just reconnect without asking u questions.

If 'Always dail a connection' is ticked, it will always auto connect.
But the fault is from MTN, its temporary
