Manchester United Wants Enyeama by 5p1naz(m): 3:28pm On Jun 26, 2010 |
18/06/2010 11:13 NEWS & FEATURES Talking Reds talent spotter manufan54 picks out Nigeria's in- form World Cup shot-stopper, Player name: Vincent Enyeama National team: Nigeria Club team: Hapoel Tel Aviv Position: Goalkeeper Age: 27 Match scouted: Argentina 1-0 Nigeria, 12 June 2010 Key moment: Enyeama made many key saves, especially against a world class player like Lionel Messi. Messi himself after the game told reporters that the goalkeeper was phenomenal. He was the main reason why Nigeria came so close to a draw with such a powerful international force. Strengths: Enyeama is a very athletic keeper with very good agility, giving him a reputation for saving penalties. He is a very powerful goalkeeper and has no fear - he is alway sacrifricing his body to grab the ball mid-air from long crosses. He is also a very vocal player, communicating with his defence, and urging on his team-mates. Weaknesses: One concern might be that he likes to play the sweeper role, and some players will try to catch him off his line with chipped shots. Suitability: With Edwin van der Sar turning 40 in a couple of months, it is likely this will be his last season. Enyeama would prove to be a very valuable goalkeeper, developing into a very solid no.1 for United. Estimated cost: The rumour is Hapoel are keen to sell Enyeama as they could not agree a new contract. They are reportedly looking for buyers at around £3million, which could be a great deal. Arsenal and Tottenham are also said to be interested. Even if tìs is true, still manchester united won't value Enyeama |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by Beaf: 3:56pm On Jun 26, 2010 |
Enyeama moving to Man U would only make me even more of a Man U supporter. How many men were in our World Cup team? Just one, Enyeama! Great clubs need the very best and Enyeama is it. With his display against Argentina, he is possibly the best in the World. It was absolutely phenomenal! van der Sar can't touch him with a pole in any area except height wise (he is 6 ft 5.5 in, Enyeama is 5 ft 11 in). |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by KennyG6(m): 3:58pm On Jun 26, 2010 |
paper talk or agents at work here.Good goalie but remember Van de Saar has signed up for another season so enyeama would have to sit on the bench for that period, |

There is nothing official in this. The Man Utd web page allows fans to watch games and spot talented players to suggest as signings, they do this during most major tournaments. There nothing in this besides one fans opinion. But if it somehow comes to pass I am happy for Enyeama, at least good money. |

Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by AloyEmeka5: 6:30pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
Ranoscky: Why are Nigerians so pessimistic?. Was it not the same thing they said about Mikel moving to Chelsea?. How is he fairing so far in Chelsea compared to the initial predictions that he will rust in the bench? |

Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by mamagee3(f): 7:28pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
Manchester United are the biggest misfits ever! Isn't this the same low-class, misfits that wanted Landon Donovan from the U.S. national team? He's not even that great of a player. . .the only wonderful thing he did was score a goal in the extra time against Algeria. I hope Enyeama makes no mistake in going to this parody of a club. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by Ranoscky(m): 7:38pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
^^^U say wetin? . . Donovan is not what?. . .how often do u watch him play in his club? @Aloy+Emeka, 1 thing u gat to know is, ferguson cannot play Enyeama, while van der sar is still there. unless carling cup or FA cup. and maybe as a second choice for van der sar, but Enyeama is too good to be a second choice goalkeeper. he gat 1st class performance and need a club where he'll be the 1st choice, thanx! |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by IRAPADA(m): 7:50pm On Jun 28, 2010 |

Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by Rastamann: 7:56pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
Let Enyeama not rush into any contract yet. He should take his time and make sure that he did not sign himself into slavery. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by kazman7(m): 8:08pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
mama-gee: muma gelly, wetin happen now? dem deny your husband entry into old trafford? , well thats by the way, this story is just a rumour as far as i am concerned |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by Nobody: 8:36pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
Comparisons with Van der Sar? U kid me not ! Granted, Enyeama's stellar display against argentina was about the only bright spot in a forgetable WC campaign for the super eagles but u cant judge a player on one single game. His judgement is still very suspect and he had two costly mistakes in two major games out of three. Thats a huge deal. In my view he is a very good goalie but no where near immortals like van der sar or cech. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by ajadudu: 9:16pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
Would advice him to go to a smaller club like West Ham rumored to be after him. The worst thing that can happen to a keeper is playing 95% on the bench. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by BizBooks(m): 9:27pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
I heard Avran Grant wants Enyeama for West Ham. That sounds plausible. Grant being Israeli may have been following Hapoel and the Israeli league. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by kobikwelu(m): 9:48pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
so that he would go there and become training partner to the 3 starting goalies hisss he should go to west ham atleast the team is building up |

Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by 9jafreak: 11:24pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
mama-gee: Quit hating. Landon was impressive. Terrific against Slovenia, miles ahead of any of our footballers, so just HUSH! |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by mamagee3(f): 11:49pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
^^Landon was impressive? Are you for real? Just because Dempsey shot the ball and the Algerian goal keeper let the ball slip off his hands only for Landon who was closer to the post to kick it into the net that makes him a terrific and impressive footballer. Wow!. . .I'm so shocked and in awe. Let's just say he's very good at using his opportunities and not a Yakubu. But to play in the English Premier League, Nah! Not from someone who calls football "Soccer", him and the English would be fighting for the name of the sport, lol. |
Re: Manchester United Wants Enyeama by oge4real(f): 12:07am On Jun 29, 2010 |
Enyeama should run from Man U if he still wants a relevant career. |
