Turkish club Beskitas have announced the signing of Goalkeeper Loris Karius from Liverpool on loan.

Karius - who made two costly mistakes in the Champions League final, has been replaced by Alisson Becker as Liverpool's No.1 Goalkeeper.

The 25-year-old has signed a two-year loan deal and arrived at Istanbul Airport in Turkey on Saturday and was welcomed by a large number of Beskitas fans.

'Everybody at LFC wishes Loris the best of luck during his loan spell,' a statement from Liverpool said.

The German was left out of Liverpool's squad to play at Crystal Palace on Monday night with Simon Mignolet drafted in to sit among the substitutes.

Karius has made 49 appearances for the Reds since joining the club from Mainz in 2016.

He had won the No 1 jersey last season but his Champions League final errors and a poor pre-season led him to drop out of contention.

Besiktas contested the first leg of their Europa League play-off against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday and earned a crucial 1-1 draw away from home.

The Turkish powerhouse continue their league schedule at home to Antalyaspor on Sunday evening.
