In the last few years, Pentecostal churches such as the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Winner's Chapel and the Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) to mention a few ,have experienced tremendous growth in term of follower-ship.

This has translated to increased revenues which some sources speculate to be in their billions even as these churches have gone on to complete very capital intensive projects such as the construction of universities.

However, in recent times, these religious organizations have come under criticism from member of the public for what may be defined as "Pastorpreneurship". Pastorprenuership has been described as as the unwholesome practice of religious leaders living extravagantly at the expense of their followers. This movement especially against christian leaders has been on the heels of recent developments such as the acquisition of private jets and exotic automobiles by several religious leaders.

Critics of Pastorpreneurship have also inquired as to the ownership structure of these religious organization which seem to be shrewd in secrecy. A close examination of orthodox churches, traditional to their home countries in Europe show that property in these organizations is usually by the congregation who purchased the property.

In the Catholic Church , ownership of church asset and property is governed by Canon law 1256 which states that " right of ownership over goods under the supreme authority of the Roman Pontiff belongs to that juridic person which has lawfully acquired them". it is also noteworthy that parishes are considered juridic persons or entities. In practice, assets owned by the church are held in trust by the congregation who are usually represented by vestry.

In Nigeria, ambiguities over the ownership of churches have often lead to schism with factions breaking away from themselves.

The true church is the bride of Christ.
Same way Eve was the wife of Adam, the church will become Christ wife in future.
Just as Eve was taken from Adam the church came out of Christ and she also is Christ.

If erubebe can own a church, my brother I can own one. I was watching a Nigerian pastor called iginla in TV and he sold an oil he named "ororo-water" to his church members for 1k. Lol ororowater..what a name. When u hear some of these men's preaching especially those popular warrior pastors, you'lld know they were not groomed from childhood to be a church person let alone being born again and being a pastor or even own a church. Imagine a pastor saying "na only to fucck dem sabi"
