A 45 years old man iden­tified as, Amandi, has reportedly killed a twelve year old son of his lover, over a bizarre reason of eating N20 worth of biscuit, belonging to her mother.
This is as Amandi, was also beaten to a pulp, by residents of the area, who saw the death of the 12 twelve year old boy, as unnecessary and unacceptable.
The tragedy, which happened at Agbaraevo Street, off number 147 Omuma Road, Aba, the commercial hub of Abia state, left many residents dumbfound­ed.
A source in the area told our reporter that Amandi, moved in with the widow few years ago after the demise of her husband and has since then remained her only male companion.
The source observed that the issue was flimsy to result to the killing of the boy. “When he was beating the boy, people asked him to stop, but he refused. It was when the boy died that he wanted to run away and we learnt the boy’s offense was just that he ate his mother’s biscuit. And the mother’s lover didn’t like it.”
Another resident said that the deceased identified as Aboy, was the youngest child of the widow, who was simply identi­fied as Mama.
The source added that Aman­di, who runs a shop where he sells hot drinks and also a weight lifter sees the widow who is said to be several years older than him as the only source satisfying his sexual desire. “The man is too old to beat that boy. Even the woman he is sleeping with is older than him by many years. He is a weight lifter and sells Kaikai. He surprised all of us when he moved in with the woman after her husband’s death.
“Most people who were beating him thought he was dead and left him, only for them to hear that he is still alive in a nearby hospital, after his supposed dead body was moved away by the police.”
Our reporter who visited the area reports that most residents are moving away with fear of impending massive arrest by the police, following the attempt of some residents to hand jungle justice on Amandi, the suspect.
