But that mustn't be conflated with Ologun who are devotees to the cult of Ogun.

The Awos are the occultists and are of various kinds, mostly divided into two major clans - the white and the black. the whites are known for good deeds and the black are known for bad or evil deeds. they mostly believe in representing and continuing the legacy of a spiritual being, collectively known as gods. priesthood belong to these sects. the ogbonis belong to this sect as well.

The ologuns are the warriors and are called different names in different yoruba climes like akoguns, baloguns, jagunjaguns, etc. they also use muliplexity of natural elements like air, water, earth, fire and herbs to wage wars.

The Olodes are hunters beside hunting for games and food and for commerce, they also serve as security guards and soldiers for their communities. they aslo make use of muliplexity of natural elements like air, water, earth, fire and herbs to hunt and secure their communities. they can be loosely called the police.
