UNIZIK’s Youngest Lecturer, Ms. Ngozi Marion Emmanuel, has won a Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Overseas Scholarship Award to study for a PhD in Media and Communication at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom at the prestigious/world-class and foremost Communication ‘School’ in the UK which began many years ago as the Centre for Mass Communication Research, University of Leicester. The scholarship is worth approximately 45 Million Naira (precisely N44,664,250)
.
This announcement was made on the Facebook account of Nigerian’s first female Professor of Mass Communication, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, who’s also Dean Faculty of Social sciences, Nnamdi Azikwe University Awka, where Ms Ngozi Marion lectures.

Now this is what we want to hear on education.
Not giving yam or beans or goat or 10,000 naira to best graduating students.

This is needed in a society like Nigeria because all young people are now entertainers.

At least this something that can encourage a young person that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I am so glad and happy.
I pray that she will use the knowledge acquired abroad to impact the students she will lecturer later on.
