"INJUSTICE as they say looks forward by yielding one product in the nearest future - CRISIS". Recently, our attention was drawn to the proposed Federal Universities fee hike by Government Chief Negotiator, Dr. Wale Babalakin in the on going NLC/ASUU renegotiation meetings with the Federal Government.

With swift urgency, we urge the the FG to sustain it's constitutional responsibilities and official duties of funding the educational sector in the country. We shouldn't despise students who cannot fight, or right what they have wronged. FG shouldn't play down the voices of the unheard Nigerian students.

"As United We Stand," collectively, we stand to reject all the federal government claims and suggestions. Nigeria is rated among the poorest nations in the world. Yet, we are still best anywhere in the world in spite of the unfavourable conditions and maltreatments from our Government. If our parents' meager minimum wages remain #18,000.00, then our poor status should be discussed and NOT an increment on our fees.

NUNS totally disapproves with the proposed federal Universities fee hike and the suggestion that 'Federal Government' only, cannot be funding education as allegedly claimed by " Dr. Wale Babalakin". In addition, including the other proposed loans for the students which might come as (Education Banks), we think FG shouldn't do any of these because it will highly put every students on debt burdens who are not even sure of a job after graduation.

Before FG will burst the dam of negative arguments, which would automatically smoother the cries of the weak, voiceless, poor, and the oppressed. Instead to shielding the guilty at the expense of the innocent is BAD policy.

Conclusively, NUNS advises the FG to follow the international standard of living and of funding education. With the same mandate given during the taking of the oath of office, by making it fun, fair if not FREE to the masses irrespective of class, gender, tribe. Remember, education is a right and NOT a privilege.
