Devotees of Sàngó were invited to perform traditional rites in a community in Oyo state which was affected by a lightning recently. It was gathered that the lightning also destroyed some houses and killed a victim in the process.

The Sàngó worshippers performed the traditional rites and found a local item (Edùn Àrá) that was formed by the lightning and dug it up.

It is believed that the devotees of Sàngó have the responsibility to make certain traditional rites in the place affected in order to prevent again the same accident in that locality.

Besides having to perform the rituals for possible victims, they also have the responsibility to find at the scene of the accident the Edùn Àrá ,
known as Sàngó stone.

Recently, tragedy struck in the quiet community of Shimawa in Ogun state after a fresh secondary school graduate simply identified as Ogechi and a 15-year old, Emmanuel, were allegedly killed by a thunder strike.. The incident happened on Sunday, September 30th.

Inviting evil spirits into the community, and later wondering why things are not going well.

You mean what they are doing in that picture is evil?
I don't think Africa will progress with this kind of mentality, what is wrong in practising our tradition? China and India never turn away from their tradition and they are progressing. Which development has Islam and Christianity brought to Africa except inferiority complex? You always want to be like the whites but you can't be. Embrace your culture and tradition. Be wise, liberate yourself from mental slavery and inferiority complex.

The fact that you believe that a donkey talks, says a lot about your IQ.

hmmm there is much to Africa. There are 2 events that still baffle the hell outta me:
First, thieves who had stolen from a popular market in Benin city returned all the stolen stuffs when they heard that ' Ayelala' -a diety common among Ondo and Edo people was to be invoked.

Second, a guy had stolen a bunch of bananas , he had used a sharp knife to cut off the bunch. When the owner came, he was so pained that he started some curses and incantations and pronounced that may the thief be cut down by the same weapon used in stealing the banana. Few days later ,the thief was stabbed to death by that same sharp knife.

I dey fear Africa o! But why can't we use such power to make a politician tar all the roads in Nigeria?
