Head To Head - Apple Ecosystem Vs Google Ecosystem by enny66(m): 7:41pm On Oct 14, 2018
There was a time when Apple Ecosystem Vs Google Ecosystem comparison felt like asking the best option between a dog and a cat. Back then, Google was strictly known as a software tech firm while Apple was mostly into hardware.

The only shared commonality was the fact of been tech companies just like the major similarity between a cat and dog was that both were animals.

Recently though, both tech giants have strayed into each other's patch.

Google, once synonymous with Google Search only, now makes hi-tech hardware. Apple, too, has gone big into software while maintaining a strong presence in their primary hardware niche.

Now a Google ecosystem vs Apple ecosystem is almost like comparing two different breeds of dogs. Which one is better?

Individuals choose one over the other based mostly on cost, ease of use, availability, and integration with other products.

Make no mistake though, both tech giants are working hard to make sure you stick to just one ecosystem. The launch of new products and services, ostensibly to make life better, is simply a play at making you stick to just a single ecosystem.

To answer the question of the best ecosystem between Apple and Google is basically a comparison of the products and services offered by both firms. Both tech giants have dozens of similar products competing for the attention of consumers.

So which one is better? Let's find out by comparing a few of these products and services before concluding.

Google ecosystem vs Apple ecosystem: products and services comparisons
Apple's iWork vs Google's G Suite/Google Docs
As a productivity software, iWork could do with a lot of improvement. For some years now, iWork users have complained about the lack of integration across platforms even among Apple devices only.

For instance, files or documents created with iWork might look different when opened in iOS, iCloud or macOS.

And it is very difficult to use them on competing platforms such as Windows and Android. As a matter of fact, iWork does not support browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.
Google's G suite and Google docs, on the other hand, are way ahead of their Apple counterpart.

G suite is a very comprehensive productivity software and can take care of all your documents needs even across other platforms.

Though G Suite's cloud features are not very sophisticated, it offers everything individuals need. And the best part, you don't have to pay to use it.

Apple Ecosystem Vs Google Ecosystem - Smartphones
The ecosystem for Apple smartphones is limited to only Apple phones. Google, on the other hand, allow other manufacturers to use the Android OS on their devices.

The result is that we have more Android phones than iPhones in the world.

But the fragmentation of Android has come with many problems. For instance, the quality varies among OEMs and standards are almost always compromised for a quick buck by manufacturers.

In terms of quality and standards, its hard to choose as the likes of Pixel and One plus and others are giving iPhone run for their money.

Google is trying to redress that imbalance with the Pixel series. The Pixel is still a work in progress. Given time, the phones might match up to the iPhone in every aspect.
