Proper sizing and installation are key elements in determining air conditioner efficiency. Too large a unit will not adequately remove humidity. When buying an air conditioner, look for a model with a high efficiency. Central air conditioners are rated according to their seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). SEER indicates the relative amount of energy needed to provide a specific cooling output.

Copper condensers are better as they have better heat efficiency, have a low cost of repair and are easily repairable but the initial costs are higher; aluminium condensers on the other hand have low cost but are extremely difficult to repair. The indoor units are fixed to the walls inside(ideal height is 2 metres from the ground).
