If you're charging based on the price of a car, I'm sorry but you're dishonest. Labour charges should be a flat rate. The only variance should be time. Anyways, shey na mrcoolautofix. We know say you no get sense right from day one. Where that your Golf with angel eyes and airmatic wey you somersault? |

Re: . by obekediamondfuto(m): 7:20am On Oct 26, 2018 |
supaflex: u r not kidding bros, that's exactly what he means..... if ur ride is 100m then be ready to spend at least 4m for workmanship 100m might be far fetched, if your ride is 10m ready your 400k by the side after buying of spare parts..... like heavenlybang said, it's mrcoolautofix.... we know him, just bear with us.... we can still fix this.... |

HeavenlyBang: maybe the police people don impound the vehicle permanently sef...... the write up just tire me..... if someone wants to win in any industry, the strategy is simple..... develop a unique selling point, improve continuously on it, be an expert in the field, then slowly and gradually diversify, taking into consideration..... expansion of all assets and resources (staff strength, garage, work tools, media, promos, customer service monitoring and feedback, industry wide affiliations, standardization of costs, etc).... not to be myopic and be looking for that one customer that will give u billions to fix his ride. even the billions that should be used for expansion and standardization to meet up with the international standards is now being booked to buy "grade" cars and houses in maitama....... it's mrcoolautofix y'all 1 Like |

to earn well as a mechanic u need to package yourself and your work. u can't be wearing one old rag like a mad man esp road side dudes and calling price for people. most importantly u must be a guru in your art that way people will pay u as an expert not a dunce |

obekediamondfuto: Pride aside, the op has alot to learn from this write up. Infact av saved it too |
Re: . by Eddee(m): 1:58pm On Oct 26, 2018 |
Dear OP, keep calm, take a deep breath, lose the anger, now re-read the several responses on your post and keep an open mind. You just might learn a thing or two about pricing. By the way, have you ever heard of the term "level of effort"?. Because you earned mega bucks working on a foreign firm's cars doesn't mean every foreign firm squanders resources that way. The organization I work for leases cars for humanitarian purposes, we pay workmanship costs that are determined by market forces (procurement process). |

The US mechanic that earns $50 per hour (this is actually cheap) has a garage that looks similar to the pics posted (not under a shade tree and has more than cheap hobbyist toolset), pays hefty insurance, licensing, other overhead, etc 1 Like

Hello All, I am not in support of him charging 4m or whatever. However, I believe so much that you can workout a price list that will take care of such situations. E.g SEDAN 1990's/Per hour 5000 SEDAN 2000's/ Per hour 8000 CROSSOVER 1990's/Per hour 6500 CROSSOVER 2000's/ Per hour 9000 SUV 1990's/Per hour 8000 SUV 2000's/ Per hour 10500 For premium cars from 20M upward, you can make diagnoses compulsory and make your margin from there (Run diagnosis to know the status at which they brought it and also when the car is about leaving your garage and let the owner sign. It's not a bad business ethics to make more money from expensive cars because it requires more attention and concentration. You also have to consider the risk of theft of that car or parts while in your custody. #MyOpinion |
