In Igbo land, it is a compulsory task in which the elders (umunna) of a particular kindred shares yam, meat etc especially after the traditional marriage or any other ceremonies of their daughters or sons. No matter the quantity of the meat or yam, it must be shared to the various families in accordance to the number of males in that particular kindred. The meat is meant to be picked one after the other in respect of their various age bracket. If it's otherwise in your own area, share with us. 1 Like
