Ebereonwu is Gone Too Soon

While Nollywood is still glowing in the euphoria of movie awards at the last African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in Bayelsa state and at the launching of the Tinapa business and tourist resorts in Cross River state, and also mourning the loss of top Nollywood actor Francis Agu, another leading Nollywood star Ebereonwu has died.

The Guardian reported that Ebereonwu died in a road accident last Friday after gracing the occasion of the ANA/Cadbury Poetry Prize Giving ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria.

Ebereonwu was an outstanding writer and author of many books of prose, drama and poetry and he also wrote over 30 screenplays for Nigerian movies. He was a popular director of many Nollywood movies.
