UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) an Experiment on Candidate.

The word UTME means Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations introduced by jamb to scrap the post UME done by universities, which they did not succeed. It is said that “Nothing is perfect except God” Encarta dictionary defines Unified as: forming single unit: brought together to form a single unit or entity.

UTME, was introduced by Jamb, and tried out by candidates this year 2010, I must commend JAMB for this great product UTME but there are flops:

It must be known to all candidates that most school chosen as second choice is useless example: Nnandi Azikiwe University (Unizik) does not accept candidate who took them as second choice.

Flop 1:  (what JAMB did)

Jamb ordered the University of Nigeria to remove any student that filled in the wrong subject combinations, who merited the admission. If you applied for any university and you passed the test and your name is not on the admission list, jamb ordered it.

Flop 2:

We the (candidate) are asked to choose six (6) institutions

Two (2) Universities
Two (2) Polytechnics
Two (2) Monotechnics

Example to analyze the flop

Take for instance, the candidate is science inclined (a science student) he/she choose as follows:

University of Lagos to study Medicine and surgery as first choice in the university section, and the subject combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

University of Benin to study Mechanical Engineering as second choice in the university section, and the subject combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Yaba College of Technology to study computer science as first choice in the polytechnic section and the subject combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Federal polytechnic Owerri to study Geology as Second choice in the polytechnic section and the subject combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and Geography/ Biology.

And that of the Monotechnic, He/ she intended to study chemistry as first choice and the subject combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and mathematics

And for the second choice in monotechnics He/She intended to study Biology and the combinations are:

English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

I put this question to jamb and its members,
What is my subject combination?

Solution to your Flop

The UTME candidate must take five (5) subjects instead of Four (4) subjects.

Reason

Four subjects combinations will not correspond with candidate who makes such choices with the subject combination.

Reason
For five subjects, the fifth subjects will serve as interlink with such choice made by the candidate

Example: for such kind of choice made by the candidate here is the combination:

English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and mathematics.

Dear Jamb, we the candidates who applied for the University of Nigeria and other schools are aware of what the board is about doing, Parent take note you wards future is about to be toiled with by JAMB, and we will not Tolerate your (JAMB) mistake for our future. Candidates take note, parents be informed, general public see to this. Federal Ministry of Education, make this correction.

Festus Keyamo the father of students come to our rescue, we wrote this examination and passed it and we are about to be denied our admission.

This is a mistake made by Jamb and its body, admit it

All the candidate who applied to the university of Nigeria be prepared for this storm, if you merited this admission and you did not see you name on the admission list, don’t say I didn’t inform you, the list are being taken to JAMB headquarters in Abuja on Monday19 July 2010, jamb has failed again spread this message to everybody. Our future will not be paid for with Jamb’s mistake.

P.S Applicant of University of Nigeria Take note. shocked

@Poster,

I think u'v tried bro, but why not chose to study either Engineering or medcine, law or Accountancy, etc that will tally with your four JAMB-UTME subjects instead of jumping up and or down.

If you want to be an Engineer why go to Medcine?         (when you know the different to be maths and biology)      OR

Is that not okay?

some one i know chose to study Engineering with Economics and Biology chosing in JAMB - what hope do u think? (Its a self mistake). Ok?

WHERE U CAN ACUSE JAMB IS THAT THEY CREATED SOME CHANCES AND LEFT SOME WITH VACANCY (NO OCCUPANT)
HOW?

U are given six chances to chose or rather three that is 1. UNIVERSITY, 2. POLYTECHNIC OR 3. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION and if you succeed in geting admission into University the other two that is Polytechnic and College of Education who will occupy them? and if you get admitted into Polytehnic or College of Education the other two vacancies who would these vacancies?

Now, you had that some Universities don't have candidates at all while some have but 9 or 13 (if i'm correct) while some don't have up to the number they expected. These vancancies created who would occupy them?     OR    Will  there be a second JAM-UTME this year?

Think about this.
