The most important things in pig farming are your money, time and the type of breed. As lucrative as pig farming is, these three factors must not be overlooked. Below are the three factors:

Money: Money is highly needed to buy the amount of pigs you need to start the business. Money is also needed to rent a place or buy a land to build and put your animals and money is needed to buy their feeds, drugs, veterinary payment, etc.

Time: Time in pig farming involves you to be there to monitor the growth of your pigs. This is because you have to observe if your pigs are growing well through the type of feed you are giving them to eat or they’re falling ill. Once, they are falling ill they won’t eat which would involve you calling the veterinary to come and inspect them and give them the necessary treatment. And if you have other business at hand, you can employ a trusted person to help you look after your animals.

Breed: If you want to get a fast result in pig farming the type of breed that you would purchase is very important. We have the local breed and the exotic breed. It takes eleven to twelve months before the local breed develops while it takes six months before the exotic breed develops and it’s ready for sale. Some pigs would be fed and fed and they would refuse to grow because they are bad breed.

So kindly, notice these three factors if you love to start pig farming.
