AutoCAD is generally used by engineers for design including machine drawing, circuit drawing, building plans, etc. While autoCAD 2D (2-dimensional) is basically for layouts and plans, 3D is for visualizing the drawing in a realistic (picture-like) view i.e. 3 dimensional view.

Well, PDMS (Plant Design Management System) is for 3-dimensional design of equipments, pipe design, layouts, isometrics and drafting, structural design including beams and columns, plates and panels, walls and floors, ASL (Assess, Stairs & Ladders) modeler.

These two tools are some of the basic tools used in the engineering companies, including some multinational oil companies (at least I know of Shell, Total and Oceon-group).

MBAL and PROSPER are for Petroleum engineers or other engineers planning to take up a career in the oil & gas industry as Reservoir Engineers or Production Engineers. They are part of a complete suite of the Petroleum Expert (PETEX)'s IPM (Integrated Production Modeling).

MBAL does Material Balance Analysis, Production Forecasting and Optimization, History Matching, Decline Curve Analysis, Monte Carlo Simulation, etc.

PROSPER does down-hole and surface equipment modeling, In-flow Performance Relation (IPR), Vertical Lift Performance (VLP). Summarily, PROSPER does nodal analysis.

The knowledge of these tools will not only boost one's CV but also places one at an advantage. At least, the training will empower each participant with what is needed to start a similar training and be their own boss.
