Ujunwa had just turned 21 two days ago. It was a big deal to her family that she did. So her parents being among the elites in the society, threw her a big party. She was the only girl out of six children. When the idea to take her to a good resort like Tinapa in Calabar was suggested by her elder brother Obinwa, she refused and said she wanted to celebrate her birthday her own way. On her demand, her family gave her the whole house to use for five days since they wanted to honor her wishes. It wasn't a big deal to her because she started planning her 21st birthday when she turned 18. She'd already organized everything the way she felt it will be, and by right, it was a good plan. Her schedule and arrangements read; the first day was for everyone that will come and celebrate with her, the second day was for few members of her department, the next day was for her neighbors, there was also a day for her close friends, the day for just her and her bestie (who decided to come with her boyfriend), and lastly the day she will celebrate with her boyfriend.

Everything went as planned, till the day she scheduled to celebrate with Isioma her best friend. They have been friends since secondary school, even attended the same secondary school, were in the same class and after their secondary education, got admission in the same university to study the same course, geology and mining.

Isioma had just finished dancing with her boyfriend Chetanna, and was climbing the stairs to go pee when she caught a glimpse of a lady in a flowing green gown entering Ujunw's room. It was odd to her that after all the celebrations someone was still around. 'Hey, you shouldn't be here, the party ended like two days ago', she said following the lady into the room. The lady stopped in the middle of the room, bent down and started drawing a sign on the floor. Isioma got close and touched the lady, the lady stopped drawing the sign stood up straight and was still. 'Did you not hear me?' Isioma asked, and immediately, the lady disappeared. Isioma froze with fear and shock, and smoke covered the whole room, except where the sign was drawn. Isioma made up her mind quickly to run, but she felt the presence of someone standing behind her. She turned around slowly with much fright and faced the lady, who Isioma discovered was not actually a lady, but a being, a kind of out-of-this world creature with a hideous deformed face, the face was so hideous, one part of the face was peeling off due to decay and one eyeball was already off, yet the hole was filled with cockroaches without wings, crawling in and out of her eye socket, and all over her face. She held Isioma by her throat, lifted her up, but this time she had another face, a less hideous one. Isioma with the remaining strength in her, pleaded 'please...(amidst sobs) don't kill me...'. The lady, already squeezing the life out of Isioma, spoke in a strange language no one has heard before. 'keh haro limic apei', she strangled Isioma, tore off her head and sprayed her blood on the sign and continued her incantation. 'Ka khop tar tar Lem hak hak ump ing sti chat pasa ki'. The parts of the ground she drew the sign on immediately caved in, and had smokes emanating from it. The ground started shaking, but just the floor of Ujunwa's room, everything happening at that time was in her room, with few smokes escaping to the passage.

Isioma's boyfriend, who saw her climbing the stairs did not see her come down, after almost 20 minutes, feeling it was an invitation for a good time, climbed the stairs too, when he noticed the smokes coming out of Ujunwa's room, went to find out what was happening. He opened the door to the room and saw the same lady like creature, when he got close enough, he felt the ground shaking and saw the ground where she made the sign open and the hole was filled with a red like hot larva that looks like a burning human flesh mixed with blood. He was stealthily getting close to the lady. As he almost got close to her, he stepped on isioma's head. He was for the first time in his life scared, very horrified, he jumped with fright and was about to run out and scream when the door was shut and a force from outside pushed him down. He tried to stand to his feet and came face to face with the hideous creature in green, only this time, the face was lady like, but still hideous and deformed. She said the same thing she said to Isioma to him, 'keh haro limic apei', Chetanna couldn't understand what she said and as he tried to speak, he felt a hand pierce his skin and tear out his intestines, blood started gushing out of his mouth. The lady in green tore out his intestines from his body and he fell and made a final effort to crawl out of the room.
As he got to the door, with his stomach now open and his organs pouring on the floor, the creature drew him back with her telekinetic power and lifted him up while holding him by the throat, she had this superhuman strength. She drew him close to her and sucked the remaining life out of him. He dropped on the floor, dead and pale, suddenly, ants crawled out of the hole and started chewing off his skin.

Ujunwa who has been on the phone with her boyfriend noticed her friends were not in the sitting room anymore, went to look for them. She noticed smokes coming out of her room and decided to start searching for them their, out of curiosity too. She opened the door of her room and saw their dead bodies on the floor, with ants chewing on Chetanna's skin. She screamed and this caught the attention of the lady in green who was still doing incantations. The lady in green turned to face Ujunwa and immediately the room started shaking, the bulb switch started to flicker with the light going on and off at intervals, the smokes disappeared and the door of her room flew wide open. The lady in green, now a creature with deformed scary face floated towards Ujunwa and said 'keh haro limic apei', this time around, she knew Ujunwa could understand her.
Ujunwa didn't know how, but she understood what the lady-like creature said. The lady in green either too angry or scared that Ujunwa could understand her, hit Ujunwa on the chest and the force was so much that Ujunwa was pushed out of her too into the passage. She landed on her back and lost consciousness. The lady in green screamed 'ka tar zerg indzi' and disappeared, along with every other thing she created or caused, including isioma's head. The hole disappeared as well. The whole house shook as she disappeared and this brought Ujunwa back to consciousness. She ran into her room as she got up and met no one but the lifeless bodies of Chetanna and Isioma, who's body was also headless.
Now she started thinking about the nightmares she started having two weeks ago and immediately knew this was connected to the happenings in her house that day. They were no ordinary nightmares, every thing has some how started to make sense to her...
