The English Premier League have issued a statement after news of racism in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling was abused by some Chelsea fans.

Sterling laughed at the fans at the time but has since issued his own statement about the racist treatment he and other players have received.

MySportDab report No arrests have yet been made over the allegations and the Premier League issued a statement this morning condemning the scenes.

“The club and the police are rightly investigating,” the league wrote.

“The Premier League and the clubs are opposed to all forms of discrimination in football.

“And if anyone is found to have racially abused a Premier League player they deserve to the punished.

“We will support any action taken by the club or the authorities.”
