The Kogi State Judiciary has commenced an indefinite strike over 6 months unpaid salaries.

In a statement by the union secretary, Comr. Sule Suberu said the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Kogi State has resolved in an emergency meeting to shut down the courts indefinitely with effect from tuesday, 11th December, 2018.

This is as a result of the inability of the staff to transport themselves to their offices, due to non payment of five months salaries owed them.

The Exco commended members for their endurance and faith in the union despite untold hardship inflicted on them by the non payment of salary by the state Government.

They frowned at the insensitivity of the state Government towards the Judiciary by not releasing their monthly subvention.

The notice directed the staff to sit at home as from today 11th day of December, 2018.

Consequently all staff are enjoined to give maximum cooperation to this directive.
