After the Cuban Revolution in 1959, Fidel Castro ,the then-President of Cuba, banned the importation of US-made cars and their mechanical parts .

Till today, over 60,000 pre-1959 cars, which were part of the over 125,000 wealthy Americans abandoned cars , still ply the streets of Cuba.
