Mr. Allenby is a murderer, full stop. He will always be a murderer, but now he is a murderer without a conscience because he has "found jesus."
I would expect a man who has killed people in cold blood to feel shitty for the rest of his miserable life, jesus or no jesus.
On principle, I oppose the death penalty, but sometimes, for unrepentant shi.ts like Louis Allenby, I wish.
Fortunately, he is wrong about his beliefs in an afterlife.

He took all those years I expected to wallow in suffocating guilt for having forced a mother to choose the order in which I strangled her children and wiped them away in a jiff.

How very repulsive, yet there are  people who would be thanking god that another sinful soul has been saved. What about the family he "wiped away in a jiff"? Did jesus care for them?
Of course, the Onion is a satirical magazine. I suspect that that would not stop some christians praising their god for a job well done.

So now that he has found Jesus, he feels good about his crimes?
