Autonomous if applicable to ASUU should mean that they are entirely independent, even without funding from the government. That is should not be funded by government.

He is taking after the steps of his mentor, the durladinho of our time. Impunity in governance has been the order of the day in the past three years and counting... :feb16

Governor Fayemi is used to removing VC, he did it during his first tenure, removed the then VC who entered under PDP government......when Fayose entered he left the VC he met from fayemi to complete his tenure.....and now fayemi enters and fires another PDP government VC.....the trend may continue if PDP enters again.

He was not removed, rather he was suspended. In as much as section 292 clearly stated that the governor or executive has no right to remove a VC unless 2/3 of the school senate recommend.
But the governor acted on an order from the Student union council who recommended that the VC should step aside until he us found innocent.
Imo state governor have done it before the case of prof Anwuka during Ohakim reign and heaven did not fall, so heaven can not shift now.

One thing drawing Nigeria back is hate, politics of hate, hate among colleagues, etc its 95%

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, @ASUUNGR, in Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has condemned the removal of the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The vice chancellor of EKSU was arbitrarily removed. The removal is hereby condemned in strong terms and in its entirety.

The university is an autonomous institution with extant rules and governing regulations.

The appointment and removal of a VC has procedures under the laws of the university. In order to prevent unnecessary crisis and administrative.

Due process should be followed in governing of the university.

ASUU-EKSU chairman, Prof. Olufayo Olu-Olu, in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday said Fayemi’s action did not follow due process.

Olu-Olu said the governor lacked the powers to remove the VC.

Adding that, “It is the university's Governing Council that has the power to remove the VC, after following due process.”

university autonomy? i think government should give universities financial autonomy as well and part of education budget should be channelled to scholarship for students.

Why are APC political office holders bent on reckless removal of people from positions of authority? They should not continue to politics of vendetta

Its VC a political appointee ? It's been practiced in state school from d beginning of Nigeria. They claimed autonomy but still feeding fat from the government

And if u had the brain to reason like a human, u will understand fact that federal university cannot generate more money without funding from the government
