The Minister of Petroleum, President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the renewal of 22 expired and expiring oil blocks. THISDAY reported that the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) realized about $1 billion for the government from the blocks. The government received applications from holders of 25 oil blocks.
