We Can’t Meet Siasia’s Demands – Nff by MRMoneyE(m): 3:21am On Aug 20, 2010 |
[b]Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) assistant secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme, has slammed Samson Siasia for his wage demands. The NFF is currently in negotiations with the former Flying Eagles’ youth coach, as they seek a replacement for Swede Lars Lagerback, who stepped down after the World Cup. However, the former Nigerian striker's salary demands of a $1million signing on fee, and a $100,000 a month, has proved to be a sticky point. Ikpeme maintains the NFF simply can not afford to meet Siasia's demands. "To me what Siasia is demanding as a national coach is good, but we have to do things according to what we believe we can conveniently pay. "We'll not pay Siasia a salary that we'll turn around later to default on our promise. "If I may recall, the salary we paid Berti Vogts ($30,000) was offset by Globacom. That of the immediate past coach of the Eagles, Lars Lagerback ($330,000 monthly) was paid by the Presidential Task Force because of the World Cup "Shuaibu Amodu, whom the FA paid by itself, did not earn what Siasia is demanding for right now. I think we should go for what we can afford to offer in order for anybody not to regret it later in the future." Below are Salaries Of Ex-Super Eagles’ Coaches: Foreign Technical Advisers 1. Lars Lagerback: $1.8m for 5 Months He Earned $330,000 (N50m) Monthly 2. Berti Vogts $30,000 (N4.5m) Monthly 3. Milutinovic Bora $180,000 for 6 Months. He Earned $30,000 (N4.5m) Monthly 4. Jo Bonfrere $150,000 Sign-On Fee. Plus $30,000 Monthly Salary Nigerian Coaches 1. Shuaibu Amodu $15,000 (N2.3m) Monthly 2. AustinEguavoen $10,000 (N1.5m)Monthly 3. Christian Chukwu $3,300 (N500,000)Monthly http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/football-golf-boxing/10304.html |

I think both sides should be realistic with the negotiation and arrive at a decision. |

the funny thing is that siasia is being paid less than 5,000 dollars at heartland, liberia rejected him, so most likely he don't even have a choice |

at the end of the day, some groups are behind siasia's demands. there are a lot of settlemensts to be done in the house. there is a possibility that siasia will not end up with half of what he is demanding for. corruption in the country is destroying everything. |

Osama10: Because they are tagged as local coaches and because some Nigerians love to worship anything with a white skin. Let siasia accept N 3 Million naira, N 1 million naira can be added every 6-1yr if he's performing well enough. If the value of the super eagles go up by their good performance and results, then the overhead returns of the team would force the NFA into increasing the coach's salaries. Let siasia sign a contract of this kinda nature. |

Osama10: This your list is not accurate Largerback was paid $200,000 not $330,000 equivalent to N30M and not N50M you listed Berti Vogts was paid $60,000 monthly, not $30,000 equivalent to N9M and not N4.5M you listed Where did you get your figures from? please we don't have to be fed wrong information abeg. Amodu earned N2M equivalent to $13,334 and not N2.3M you listed from whichever site you got it from. |

Here we go again. . . The NFF can't meet Siasia's demands but they are capable of meeting Lagerback's' demands. I don't get why Nigerians would rather treat foreigners with a little bit of respect that their own. |

MR Money £:Why in the world would you suspect Saisia? I mean he's only negotiating based on the amount he thinks he's worth. you should blame the NFF, I mean this is the same organization that paid Lars Lagerback millions of naira and yet he was terrible as a coach. |
