The best thing you can do for your system is to gulp down at least two glasses of warm water (not cold) every morning.
You'll be doing your system a whole world of good.

I thought drinking cold water helped with weight loss because of the amount of energy required to convert it body temperature.

No it doesn't.

When you seem to gain weight after drinking lots of water, it's called water retention and that happens because of high sodium intake.
When you take in too much salt, it causes water retention.
That is why people who eat too much noodles have puffy face or bloated tummy .
