NUBIA AFRICAN CHESS Game: Africa's Answer to Western chess

It has been over 1,500 years ago that the parent game of all chess called Chaturanga was invented in India and since then there have been over 2,000 variants of the original game made (including Xiang-qi or Chinese chess, shatrang or Persian chess, western/international chess etc.). Of these 2,000 variants, NONE of them is African in nature/game play and ALL of these over 2000 variants have the original, ancient and long-held objective of capturing the king piece.

Over the centuries, conflict theory and warfare has changed a lot, however the ultimate war board game of chess hasn't evolved to reflect that reality. This reality is that war has changed from the actions of a belligerent king causing conflict, to conflicts springing up because of disputes over land boundaries/annexations, and the ownership and control of natural resources mines. Chess in its previous 2,000 variations and over the last 1500 years is firmly stuck in the middle ages

We introduce Nubia: the African Chess. Nubia is Africa's first indigenous chess variant with African war tactics/ strategy, that also innovates on all other currently existing variants by having a more modern conflict idea and objective; i.e. an objective of claiming lands and the natural resources on them. Nubia has come to show the way not just for African war strategy expressions but for chess lovers all over the world seeking a more modern, and fresh idea for conflict

NUBIA BOARD
Nubia is played on a special 10X10 checkered board pock-marked with icons denoting locations and sites across Africa. The Nubia boards rows are denoted from center of board to Back as:

- Border, outskirts, Town center, Market, and Palace

It's columns are denoted from left to right as:

-1st path, 2nd path, 3rd path........ 10th path

NUBIA GAME OBJECTIVE
The game's objective is to guide any of one's Peasant pieces to land on any of the opponent's natural resources mines (these are located in the outskirts row of each town). Once this occurs, the game is won.

THE UNIQUENESS OF THE NUBIA

1. A departure from the ancient game objective of capturing the king piece
2. A utilisation of certain African war tactics such as the Mystic's Hypnosis, and the Invincible king
3. A piece that can capture more than one opponent piece at a time
4. A King piece that cannot be captured
5. A piece that can turn opponent pieces against each other
6. The Nubia game board gives a much more real sense of traversing a real-world landscape evidenced by the naming of the rows and the columns as actual relatable locations and paths (border, outskirts, town centre, market, palace).

POSITIONING STATEMENT
For young chess lovers of African origin on the continent and in the diaspora, who desire a genuinely african version of chess with a more modern conflict idea, Nubia satisfies this yearning fantastically. Unlike all other versions of chess in history, it sets itself clearly apart in its utilisation of African war strategy/tactics and a more modern idea of what causes conflict in the 21st century
