Ye are the light of the world. This seven-word statement fit into what we can call a complete or perfect sentence, the declaration does not bring any ambiguity as Jesus Christ our saviour declared over 2000 years ago. Although it is an old declaration, it is an ancient landmark that the Christians of this age MUST take into consideration.

The 2019 general election as its own challenges, but that should not change what a Christian should be, but the political exercise shows that a very high number of so-called Christian are living like children of satan.

Politics is not a Missionary Work where we are all expected to follow the same direction, pursue the same goal and objective. An election is world Democratic standard of choosing leaders and every Christian has the Civic right to participate and make his/her choice. So whomever you support or do not, the other person should not be seen as a wrongdoer, less-spiritual or less-intelligent. Whoever emerges as a leader. it is Christianly that we pray for such individual as stated in 1 Timothy 2:1.

This 2019 General Election gives me a cause to worry about, seeing a lot of Christian on social media degenerate into a reprobate, insulting, cursing others, including their fellow Christian. It even gets worse after the election, that some began to corrupt the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ, using such beautiful name to curse others, wishing the nation and others evil, WHAT who hath bewitched you? If you found yourself in this situation kindly repent and ask God for forgiveness.

As heavenly-minded Christian, our public conduct in this season is to exhibit the life of Christ; loving, peaceful, gentle, meek, self-control, etc as stated in Galatians 5:22. Below are scriptural instruction to guide our public conduct:

=>Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
=>Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
=>Titus 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
=>1Pet 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
=>1John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother[neighbour] is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
=>Matt 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: *but whosoever shall say, Thou fool*, shall be in danger of hell fire.

The above is little out of many biblical instructions that guide our public conduct not only during an election but for everyday living. I could continue lamenting on this matter but I believe that enough is for the wise. I will also encourage our minister to use any opportunity available to pass this message to their congregation and save many from going into perdition. Christian Social Influencers should for the sake of our Heaven-ward journey pass the message to their followers. I pray none of us will go to hell because of partisan politics, Amen.

We should not allow the politician to get in between us and heaven, those who are opposing themselves today are once on the same side before and in the future interest may or will align them together on the same side, but we Christian who allowed politics to corrupt our righteousness will never remain the same.

Yes, we have prayed for a peaceful election and God has answered, let us not forget to pray and continue to praying for a renewed consecration to be useful in the hand of God, preaching the Gospel.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
