AutoReportNG:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Brilliant... The roads in Nigeria will have some breathing space. More cargo wagons have to be made or imported in the meantime. #Nigeria... moving forward! |

olas24u:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Just for MORE clarity... Nigeria gets crude oil EXPORT money from the list below: 1. Nigeria gets crude oil EXPORT money from the South of South States. [The cardinal points do not have anything called South-South]. 2. South-Western States of Ondo and Lagos. [Ondo state generates 3 times more crude oil especially offshore than what Imo and Abia produce based on official annual production data]. 3. Then the South-Eastern States of Imo and Abia. 4. Nigeria also generates income from VAT and other taxes from Lagos State which accounts for over 50 percent of VAT and from other parts of Nigeria. More sources of income for Nigeria exist especially from the global financial markets investments. Hope this helps. |

netflicks:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Just a quick correction @netflicks Slightly over 70 percent of all the cargo coming into Nigeria is meant for the South-West States of Lagos and Ogun because of the massive industries there... INFACT Ogun State has the highest number of industries in Nigeria. So the Lagos and Ogun axis will continue to receive goods from the Seaports for a long time to come. The remaining 30 percent of goods head for the Northern States and the other parts of Nigeria. This information is from official Nigerian Maritime sources. Lagos axis is also closer to the Atlantic Ocean and is the closest gateway to Europe, America, Canada, and West Africa by sea from the manufacturing centres in the West and North of Nigeria. Most of the cargoes coming into Nigeria are meant for the the manufacturing industries that bring their raw materials in large containers. Again the LAKAJI route [or LAGOS, KANO, JIBIYA] are the busiest cargo or business routes in Nigeria. Warri port, Calabar and Onitsha are River Ports with shallow water levels. They are NOT Seaports that have deeper water levels that can take in BIG ocean - going cargo ships and are considered not profitable destinations for international shipping companies. These River Ports do NOT have what you call Destination of Cargo ... meaning that there are not enough industries in those areas that will make it profitable for the shipping companies to bring in containers and take away containers with goods in them! So the Lagos to Calabar rail line construction will COMMENCE later this year and the PH to Maiduguri rail line which will serve the South Eastern States will all be completed before the end of the next 4 years! |

olas24u:^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ Yes correct... but the Ndoki or Ukwa East LGA part of Abia which produces the small crude oil and gas also extends into Rivers State. Infact, the larger part of Ndokiland is in Rivers State and they are some of the biggest producers of crude oil and gas income for Rivers State. It is from the oil and gas fields of the Ndoki people that gas is being tapped for the proposed Geo Metrics Power Plant in Abia which will soon be inaugurated. There was a time in 2009, I read online that some Ndokis of Ukwa East LGA in Abia wanted a merger with their kith and kin in Rivers State because Abia governments allegedly where not taking good care of them ... and they lacked infrastructure as oil producing communities. All the best. 1 Like 1 Share |
