It is sad that Ethnic bias are being introduced into this matter. It begs the reason why "Nigeria" is still a country. Each group is quick to highlight their individual differences, call each other names, who did this, who did that...ignoring the fact that outside Nigeria all they know is not you re IGBO, she is Yoruba, they are Hausa, there is Niger-Delta, all they know is NIGERIAN. Only those who have interacted with each group individually, know there are extensive differences. Secondly, prison is not meant or designed to be pleasurable, at least not in a 3rd world country. It is ideally, meant for the individual to pay their debt to society, serve as a place for moral reflection, appreciate freedom and turn a new leaf. However, we all know that is not the case. These prisons in Africa are better described as factories for churning out cadavers for medical students or for manure production. Thirdly, a lot of our Ambassadors are simply political jobbers who are rewarded with ambassador for their membership of the ruling party. They dont know what the role is about, are surrounded by career diplomats(mainly diplomatically inept individuals) who dont care about how the country or its people are perceived and how they are portrayed. An Ambassador is the caretaker of the country he represents reputation. They are meant to promote cordial relationships between their country and their host country. Finding out the problems and addressing them through consultation and intervention. Now to Nigerians, Nigerians keep ruining their chances in the world through the atrocities they commit. Just as any blackman now commits crimes and claims being a Nigerian, so also some Nigerian victims of Nigerian to Nigerian atrocities are rapidly dissociating themselves from anything Nigerian (e.g. the lady who recently gained Canadian citizenship and said "...now to thrash this useless green thing..." (paraphrase). Nigerians no longer hold one another accountable, celebrating someone with no tangible endeavour yet churning out material possessions like they had one. Celebrities (Davido et al) lying about material possessions and the ignorant masses, hailing them... Politicians without minimum qualifications going to tribunals to reclaim mandates that should not have seen the light of day; Celebrities who stand up (Charly Boy) to start demanding accountability only to sit down after collecting money ... It is a shame... and very very sad... If we do not start from the danfo who will charge variant fees for the same route, the gas station who will hike prices to cause fuel scarcity, the tailor who sews your clothes and you refuse to pay; your son brings several women home and has sex with them and you say boys will be boys; your neighbor's daughter is seen with different men in different cars and you turn away... etc then you are part of the problem I fear the future of our children, if we allow this continue 3 Likes 2 Shares |

The law takes its action when you indulge in crime and the prison yard is meant for criminals, though their are occasions when the innocents are unlawfully sentenced to prison which is also a catholical problem. But my point is that we should try staying out of criminal activities do lawful businesses, live within our means and do not try wanting to be like the other person.Be your own self and in due time your expectations will come to pass if you're patience enough. I wonder what's in Togo compared to Nigeria that will make a full blooded Nigerian to land in their prison. 1 Like 1 Share |

hisexcellency34: Does it justify the inhumane treatment? What goes around, lands on your head. Do you know you could be in prison by association? You can be chilling with a friend not knowing he is a criminal. Police comes in and arrest the two of you, gives you same sentence. Everything in life is not always black and white. Do you also know you can be setup for a crime you didn't commit. Sometimes when I see such topics I dont just rush and chochocho. Its just by God's grace that we are free, alive. Let's not think we are better or smarter. NB:You can imagine someone saying that's why he hates nocturnal life while commenting about the man and his girlfriend killed by police. What of those that were watching football at viewing center and electric wire fell and killed them, those killed by stray bullets nko while going about their businesses, those that were walking on the road and trailer just decided to leave its path and crush them from back without notice. Its not your portion, you said? Was it their portion? 2 Likes 1 Share |

loopman: Why do you choose to toe the path of stupidity this early Monday morning. did you see where any name was mentioned in the post. why do you choose to be vain in your thought. why do you choose to be bigot. must you reply hate for hate. why can't you be matured. it's not fair if we continue like this. this is even beyond this forum, as most people from these t ethnic groups has taken this up as a senseless cold war. when a white man do this kind to you, you throw up dust and shout rascim. but you enjoy doing it to your fellow brothers, bunch of bloody hypocrites. you Yoruba's and Ibo's are bloody hypocrite. where has your bragado gotten you, shouting up and down over supremacy. it shows you'll are weak within, for it's a sign of mental and psychological weakness. it expose your insecurities and you do these things by trying to cover it up. why can't you just grow out of hate. Just so you know, I am Yoruba, a liberal one that does not tolerate stupidity. I am a black man who wants the total emancipation of the black man body, soul and spirit. But I doubt if such ambition can be achieved if we still have lots like you amongst us in both ethnic group and in Africa. you are shame to the black man. 1 Like |
