birth control is forbidden to the Catholics too, it is not only the northeners that need birth control but evey family in Nigeria, my elder brother had 6 kids and died to leave the wife the burden of taking care of the children and the wife is putting pressure on her husband's siblings to assist in raising the kids. Now I have to assist, putting pressure on my own finances and this is the way these things affect all of us, our relatives, friends and neighbours should be advised on the need for a small family so that we too could be spared the responsibility of being called upon to support a struggling family that can't feed itself.

God bless you richly for this.

In a way this affect all of us.

And if you don't help they will tag you bad like you were there when they were making million babies without plan

Education is key. You cannot force birth control on people especially on a continent like Africa. People are sentimental; very religious and what not. Any attempt by any African government to encourage birth control on an uneducated populace will not be looked upon favourably considering the corruption that surrounds them.

People need to be educated on things like family planning first, other aspects will fall in place.

Lol seriously, you talk like we've really implemented all the common sense economics in our country.. like industrialization, social protection, proper taxation, human rights protection, corruption prevention and good governmental policies.. the truth is we haven't..

I repeat we need a big working age population to power the economy especially once we've gotten serious with industrialization.

Japan with all their achievements are now in the same spot needing more numbers in their work force.

Italy is ready to pay more to white families who have 3 or more kids.

Same in hungry and other European countries..

Why is the west promoting a population increase for themselves and telling us to reduce our numbers?

Black people need to understand enlightened self interest and self preservation...

Y'all can learn read and write but have no common sense, and will fall for the white man's rhetoric..hence why they keep saying blacks have a low IQ...

You are talking deep knowledge. Not everyone will understand it. Many are in the dark

Low life expectancy is because there's no provision or plan in place to protect the citizens from unforseen health issues.

Most Nigerians die early due to a lack of health care plan, not babies.

If there was free education for children, that alone will put money in the pockets of the middle class, who will then use that money to invest in other developmental projects.

If you didn't have any babies you'll still die. Get it?

The problem is governmental...

There is a reason every human being is born with a BRAIN! Intelligence teaches us to make decisions and good choices based on the environment we find ourselves.
There has never been governmental support in Nigeria since the 1950s so why make decisions that require governmental support?

Base your action on what Nigeria is, not what Nigeria should be!

Something is very wrong with your thinking Sir!

What is the use of children in Africa of today?

The fact that a person that thinks like him might someday be in a position power is what makes my heart bleed for Nigeria

What is the purpose of your existence today.

Why do you exist?

If you had any common sense, your question would have been rephrased to , what's the government doing to protect the rights of women and children.. today.

What will they do if you all died off, what is the benefit of those population reductions that happened in the north do to insurgencies..?

Your thinking is wrong sir ..

You need help. Listen so far as the average birth per woman is greater than 1.5, the population cannot go extinct. We are talking about bringing children that the system can support. You submissions stink of ignorance aggravated by conspiracy theories. You talked about having a higher population translating to more taxes, but who are you taxing ? Unemployed Youths? Or will you tax beggars? Or will you tax street urchins and robbers forced into petty crime due to lack of adequate distribution of resources?
You blab about birth control being a means to reduce Africa's population, so you are insinuating that numbers mean victory should a war break out? Have you heard of Nuclear weapons, Biological weapons? They could reduce the African population by 25% in one generation if they wanted to...all they have to do is give us guns and we will foolishly kill ourselves. Remember Rwanda that killed 25% of the population in a 100 day genocide?, name one African country that has successfully gone to war with a European county since 1940, all we do is kill ourselves and blame the whites for it.
You just talk a lot of rubbish. Hyping sentiments and abandoning reason

He is talking 1% sense and 99% nonsense.
It is foolishness to make a delicious cake only to dress it with rotten eggs. What is deep about what he is saying?
The conspiracy theory that he is putting forward is that the whites want to drastically reduce the black race? Yes they have! and its not by forcing birth control, its by capitalizing on our almost ethereal trait of ego-fuelled stupidity!. From funding numerous rebel groups who slaughter their fellow black man, to paying village chiefs with mirrors and gunpowder for the chiefs to give out members of their own community and neighboring communities as slaves, to the silly black Americans who account for 70% of all homicide cases on fellow blacks, make music about "killing niggas", and " screwing bitches", yet scream black lives matter when the white man treats them as second class citizens, to the Nigerian cultist who feels his only achievement in life is to intimidate and oppress others to assert superiority, to the university lecturer who frustrates students to prove that his course is the toughest and thus he should be respected not minding he is frustrating great minds that hold the solution to problems plaguing the society.

The average black man's mind is pathetic and disgusting, at least that is the impression majority of our actions give.
Our saving grave is that God loves us on a special way.

Deep mind my foot! I have a deep mind and I know that foolishness masquerades itself as a holy grail of insight.

Oponu, aburo ode.....

The Catholic church is the number antagonist of family planning in the world.
The church is against use of pills and contraceptives, so to what end...

Eran jatijati
not true, Catholic do family planning, it is called "responsible parenthood " but they do not use the artificial and sometimes harmful contraceptives, they use the natural methods of family planning if there is good reason for it.

In today's world very few family of 5 children experience this.

Why do you think the average life expectancy of men in Nigeria is 48 years. Because of the wahala of having more than 2 children.

Men want sex and women oblige them with babies they cannot feed. All my friends in their 50s are technically dead as most have run out of money and nothing to rely on to survive. They have used up their resources on feeding a family far larger than their income can support.

Bad!

My brother. This is some scary issue that needs to be tackled ooo..

It's not just a northern Nigeria problem, it's already on a crisis level, given the limited resources.

A country that has 50% of it's citizens still struggling with extreme poverty. what is stopping them from reducing their population.
