The Parliamentary arm of the University of Benin, Edo state Nigeria today held its first plenary of 33rd house since after been sworn in since last year September

The plenary did not hold until after observing the house’ traditional ‘ritual’ procession which started from the university satellite campus, Ekehuan in which the parliamentarians who numbered to over eighty five persons marched from the Ekehuan campus main gate through the common room, to the boys hostel and around the premises before heading back to the main gate where it ended in the campus.

The President of the Union, comr Charles Idehen was called to present the status of the Union and to which he read what the union has been able to do and the challenges facing the union at the time, but not without questions from the Senators on pressing issues to which the President responded to.

The plenary at its climax saw Senator Ogogoh Godstime moved for the suspension of the President Comr. Charles Idehen, the vice President Comr. Oduabuchi Chikamso, the Secretary General Francis Ihiejirika, the Director of Finance and the Director of Welfare Comr Godspower for gross misconducts haven outlined the Code of Conduct for Union members citing section 35 subsection 1 and subsection 2b of the students union constitution, section 37 which outlined sanctions for defaulting the earlier section and section 38 moved a motion for the suspension of the defaulting officers.
