You mean you don't know that some people see donkey meat as a substitute for cow meat? Though they sell them to people who actually think that they are consuming cow meat. Ditto camel meat. This is very common in the Northern part of the country. Some of that 'suya' people consume aren't from cow meat alone.

The donkey is a multi-purpose animal, able to carry out a wide variety of tasks under very limited circumstances. Donkeys are fast learners, surprisingly strong (they can carry loads about half their body weight), resistant to many diseases, have a long working life, require little water, and are easy to manage. Most importantly to many animal owners in developing countries, donkeys are much cheaper to purchase than oxen, horses and other animals used for working purposes. Further, donkeys are able to withstand heat and dry conditions, but find difficulty with cold and wet climates, making clear their relevance to developing nations.

While traditional agricultural practices in the global South have changed considerably as a result of modernization and globalization, donkeys still play a central role in providing for the livelihoods of many small-scale farmers. Their roles differ from country to country and farm to farm, but in general, donkeys help increase farmers’ productive potential and positively contribute to their well-being.

Anambra is a national leader in manufacturing, industry and commerce. And the impressive thing is that these are home-grown, indigeneous enterprises. Anambra is the light of Igboland and Nigeria. We lead and others follow.

Not true.
Donkey n camel are expensive, far more expensive than a cow. Nobody will ever do that unless from a dead donkey or dead camel

yours too is not true, the easterners come here (North) to buy donkey at very cheap rate cuz the meat is forbidden in Islam, it is a work animal in Islam , so igbos especially anambra traders troop here to buy them to eat.

Well, in essence we are saying the same thing which is that the donkey is being consumed as meat, if not by Northerners then by some Southerners.

shocked shocked shocked

What is "ranch" here.

This is just a donkey market.

All the sick, old donkeys and horses in the north
are taken to the Igbos in the East to slaughter
for meat as they cannot afford beef.

Only Igbos eat donkey in Nigeria.

Export kôr, exit nî!!

Anybody eating nkwobi in the
East is eating donkey. undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Donkey is actually cheaper than cow. Some South easterners even feel the meat is sweeter than cow meat. Though I am yet to taste it to confirm.

First ate donkey meat in Ihiala. Was inside Egusi soup.

Many omambala eat donkeys thinking it is cow meat, especially at peppersoup joints.
