Bungalow Vs. Storey/highrise Buildings : Which Is More Cost Effective? by ultron12345: 8:05pm On Apr 26, 2019
Goodday everyone

Please, I need advice on this.

Which is cheaper to build between a storey/highrise building and a corresponding number of bungalows.

For example, which is cheaper, building 4 different 4 bedroom apartment bungalows or a single 3 storey building with a 4 bedroom apartments on each floor.
10 floor skyscrapper with 2 apartments on each floor or 10 bungalows with 2 apartments in each.

Let's neglect the cost of land (assuming one has access to an unlimited amount of free land), which will you go for based on cost, bungalows or storey building.

In analysis like this, you cannot rule out the cost of land as that is where the differencial lies.

If the cost of decking is more than the cost of land, no need building a storey building. So if 100 x 60 is N500k for example and the cost of decking is 3.5 million, build a bungalow then.

Building a storey building is more expensive in this respect. Also there is the added cost of transportating materials upstairs with storey structure not associated with bungalow.
