I'm actually caught up between hept or hexa.

If we separate the top C2H5 into CH2CH3, the longest chain becomes hept but if left as ethyl it becomes hexa.

Remove 1hydrogen atom from the carbon bearing the methyl group I.e carbon 3 and also remove 2H from carbon 5

How can your carbon-3 carry 3hydrogens when you already have other attached bonds? And carbon 2&5 also has extra bond. Carbon can only carry 4 bonds. This compound is wrong.
