MTNFootball.com has specially learnt that Mikel Obi, who helped Chelsea regain the English Premier League crown last season, has failed to make a 17-man list of nominees for the 2010 CAF Player of the Year Award. http://africanfootball.mtnfootball.com/live/content.php?Item_ID=33780 |

So sad that Peter Odenmwingie is not included as he is doing very well nowadays ,but i think Nsofor can beat all this players if he should just keep pushing out more efforts. He's a good player. |

isa hayyatou led caf is a typical african leadership example. 22 useless and confused years and the man is boasting of having nothing to prove again yet he seats tight on the throne. i wonder what went wrong with african man's brain especially when it comes to power. even when an african man knows he is not doing well and that the ppl are tire of him, he will be dying to remain in power. |
Re: Nsofor Nominated For Caf African Player Of The Year Award by GNBohr: 4:16pm On Sep 27, 2010 |
If Nsofor, a six-coach reject is on that list then CAF has stripped the award of the remaining credibility it still struggle to possess. Nsofor could not meet standard of Inter Milan as set by four successive coaches including Roberto Mancini, Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez. He was always playing on loan at clubs that did not think twice to send him back to Inter at the end of the loan spell. He could not pin a shirt at his last loan spell in Malaga now he is at another loan spell in Westham. Adebayor who is now relegated to the bench at star studded Man City is also on the least, to imagine Boughera is there too. Well, it only go to confirm that Africa has no players to reckon with. Very shameful indeed. The fact that the it is going to be another straight fight between Drogba and Eto'o is a pointer that football is dying in Africa and already in a state of coma in Nigeria. |

I have never seen this award as something good that really shows who is the best player of the year. It has always been characterized by controversies upon controversies. 90% of the players shortlisted have no biz there. If Nsofor could make that list and Mikel could not, then there is a BIG problem with CAF. The award is not only met for strikers, midfielders and defenders should equally be considered. Rubbish |

The omission of Osaze in that list is a huge mistake. Ojoroooooooo of the highest order! |

GNBohr: Very depressing comment. Try this for effect. If Nsofor, a six-coach reject is on that list, then CAF has is seeing something they did not. Nsofor could not meet standard of Inter Milan as set by four successive coaches including Roberto Mancini, Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez. He was always playing on loan at clubs that did not think twice to send him back to Inter at the end of the loan spell. He could not pin a shirt at his last loan spell in Malaga, but now even though he is at another loan spell in Westham, he has become a force to reckon with. The English premier league suits his game style. Adebayor the arrow head of the Togolese attack, who now has to fight for shirt in the star studded Man City is also on the list, so also is Boughera is there. Well, it only goes to confirm that Africa players have upped their game. Very promising indeed. This time around it is not going to be another straight fight between Drogba and Eto'o, as other players will fight them all the way for it. This is a pointer that football is rising in Africa and already Nigerian players are starting to come back to reckoning. How about that sir, 'your words' with a little positives. The glass, sir, is half - full. |

Osaze Odemwingie pays the price of poor showings with Lokomotiv Moscow. Not that I blame him. . . lol @Nsofor Obinna on that list. Would probably finish 17th. |
Re: Nsofor Nominated For Caf African Player Of The Year Award by slap1(m): 5:12pm On Sep 27, 2010 |
Asamoah Gyan, Didier Drogba, Marouane Chamakh, Samuel Eto'o are the ones likely to go far. Nsofor has no real business on that list. He was selected because he can easily be dropped with little fuss, unlike Osaze, and to pacify the Giant of Africa. Osaze's exclusion is not suprizing because he has been a critic of bad football administration. |

who could 4get how the bunch of IMBECILES known as CAF gave OKOCHA's award to eto in 2004, gave ABOU TERIKA's award to adebayo in 2008, and gave ETO's award to drogba last year in 2009. VERY VERY SHAMEFUL PUNKS. |

This is a joke. What did Nsofor do this year? If any Nigerian should make the list it should be Enyeama or Osaze, or even Mikel. In any case, it's straight fight between Drogba and Eto'o again. |

Essien only played a handful of games last season. He was injured for most part of last season and he also didnt make the world cup and played just one nations cup match. Nsofor scored only 6 goals during his loan spell at Malaga last season. He was a fringe player both at the nations and world cup. What did Kolo Toure and Kanoute do to deserve being on the list? useless caf awards |

What did mikel do to merit being nominated. Only osaze nears the list from nigeria. is it mikel sideways passed that will make him to be nominated. Is he the only 4 playing football worldwide. Until he learns to score nothing for him. |
Re: Nsofor Nominated For Caf African Player Of The Year Award by Obimek: 9:25pm On Sep 27, 2010 |
sley4life: Please leave Mikel alone. He didn't make it from Naija because of his absence in the world. Everybody knows that Mikel is good. Stop hating the guy! |
