The Hidden Meaning Of Logo "A Case Of Unn Logo" by Nobody: 8:40pm On Jun 11, 2019
Logos are everywhere. On the clothes we wear, on the phones we use, and on the food we buy, we’re surrounded. Some logos are incredibly straightforward, a letter-form or a pictorial representation and some are more complex. But one thing you can't deny is that the meaning behind a logo informs the viewer the content and context of a brand.

Take for instance the Synagogue Church Of All Nation Logo

The church logo has an image of Cross written on the acronym: that is “O” and under the acronym there is a word “international” written below the acronym. The acronym SCOAN is written in black and white background. The cross is inscribed in the alphabet “O”. the logo as a representation of social meaning show that the church is for the world “ international”. The image of the cross as a semiotic sign represent the challenges of life Christians have to endure while in the sinful world. The logo colours are means of communicating social meaning visually. The image is composed of two colours “ black and white”. The black stands for uncleanliness while the white stands for purity (Onipede, 2019).
The UNN LOGO
The UNN logo has an image of lion inscribed in the green white green colour of Nigeria and under it is the word “To restore the dignity of man” written below the Nigeria colour. The lion is painted black standing erect with a white coloured chain round it neck and a white coloured eye. the logo as a representation of social meaning show that the negroe man losen from the chain of colonisation through power and knowledge. The logo colours are means of communicating social meaning visually. The image is composed of three colours “ black, green and white”. The black stands for negroe. The white chain and eye stands for the western colonisation and civilation. The green white white stands for peace and natural wealth of Nigeria.
Summarily, this analogy may not completely decode the codes of UNN logo as encapsulated by the founding fathers but it helps to bring to light the relationship between human goals and outlook. NEXT TIME YOU THINK BRAND,THINK LOGO!
