The Oloko Ruling House in Ibese area of Ogun state has appealed to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to wage into an alleged illegality being perpetrated by some people over the emergence of the next traditional ruler in the community.

The ruling house who spoke through head of Oloko family, Simon Oluremi urged the governor to ensure that the 1957 Ibese Chieftancy Declaration is follow in the process of choosing the next monarch.

Oluremi while speaking with newsmen during a press briefing held at Ibese alleged some people of planning to impose 'unqualified' candidate on them.

He further accused three of the four surviving kingmakers of the community of going against the 1957 Ibese Chieftancy Declaration that stipulate criteria in choosing traditional ruler.

He said, "The purpose of this statement is to set the record straight and to humbly request our new governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to help ensure that no act of illegality is perpetrated at Ibese through the deliberate flouting of the 1957 Ibese Chieftancy Declaration.

"We also want to call on all and sundry to join hands with the legally constituted authorities to preserve communal peace and tranquility at Ibese".

Oluremi however maintained that the Oloko ruling house which would produce the next king is fielding only a candidate named Prince Azeez Adedimeji Idowu.

He insisted that all other candidates contesting for the Obaship seat were not nominated or presented by the Oloko family.

The head of the royal family further stressed that the candidate, Rotimi Mulero of Mulero family being field by the three kingmakers has been disqualified by 1957 declaration.

He explained that Mulero family hailed from the female line of the Oloko family and are barred from access to the throne by 1957 Ibese Chieftancy Declaration.

He added, "For reason best known to the three of the four surviving kingmakers unilaterally and arbitrary selected Rotimi Mulero for the vacant throne, even though they are fully aware that he is clearly disqualified by the 1957 Declaration.

"It should be noted that the candidature of Rotimi Mulero was unanimously rejected by Oloko family.

"Also, in the name of the family and for and on their behalf, I hereby confirm that Prince Azeez Adedimeji Idowu of the make line of the Oloko family is the family's Sile nominee for the vacant throne.

"Prince Azeez selection was as a result of the divine guidance sought by the family on the sustainability or otherwise of the various candidates from the family suggested for the vacant throne.

"All of the divine outfits consulted unanimously pronounced Prince Azeez as the most qualified and mist suitable of them all".
