Relatives of a 74-year-old man, Usman Zubair, said to have attacked a doctor and nurses on duty over the death of the septuagenarian at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, have been arrested by the police,


The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed this situation said that the assault on the medical personnel of the hospital occurred on the evening of Tuesday, June 18.

According to him, the Oyo State Police Command, on Thursday, June 20, arrested six persons involved in the attack of a doctor and nurses at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

Fadeyi said: “The relatives of one Usman Zubair, a 74-year-old man, who was receiving treatment in the hospital, went wild and attacked the medical personnel when they learnt of his death.

They are not mad. The hospital staff must have displayed their usual lacadesical attitude which attributed to the death of the man. If you go to Nigerian hospitals the way patients are attended to plays a major role in their death. It's very sad.
The hospital workers had it coming.

Sadly our health care system has collapsed, Primary Health care centers and clinics that should be nearest to the people in at least all local Government or each community isn't functional, minor cases are now refereed to the Secondary health and State Hospitals and Medical centers their by Jam packing everybody into the State Hospitals and other secondary health centers without enough doctors. And when matters degenerate to a near fatal stage they rush victims to Tertiary Health centers like UCH

Nurses I don’t care attitude can make you kill them. Life means nothing to them
