A man set up a livestock feed mill with N9 million loan he took from a cooperative society and agric bank. He employed a Christian brother from his church who read Animal Science (Feed Processing Option) to manage the feed mill for him on a salary of N60k/month plus bonuses depending on meeting certain target monthly. Our dear "Christian" brother bought land and started building a house secretly after 6 months on the job. The owner of the business discovered that customers were complaining about his feed and that his account books refused to tally. He brought in Feed Experts to verify the quality of his feed and auditors to check his books. Feed experts discovered that our dear brother have been cutting corners by purchasing low quality feed ingredients thereby shortchanging customers and making some money for himself. Auditors discovered that he has stolen over N1million from the business in just 6 months. He was reported to their church pastor and after some time and effort by the pastor, he confessed that he got the money with which he bought land and started foundation of a house from this dubious dealings. The man fired him, and with the pastor as guarantor, he promised to return N1million to his former employer on several instalments. One of the workers in the mill was made the new manager while the wife of the owner will now be responsible for purchases. The feed expert will now inspect their ingredients from time to time while all money from sales will be banked daily.
I blame this investor for having too much trust in a so called church brother by not managing his business by himself or his wife ab-initio. Again, I believe that brother should be handed over to EFCC so that he can at least learn a lesson. I know our church people will disagree with this since they have this erroneous beliefs that the bible says believers shouldn't take cases to unbelievers. I also believe that that house he started should be sold off to pay part of the fraud.
This is one reason why many young people remain unemployed and in perpetual poverty. This is also the reason why so many busy people who have the money refused to invest since they won't have time to manage the business themselves. Why will you believe that you can "make it" by stealing from others? No! It doesn't work that way. Where is the righteousness they teach in the church and which we read about in the bible? Later someone like this brother will come and tell us that the devil is his problem or that the government is the source of his misfortunes in life. Young people, please wake up, righteousness is your only key to divine elevation, cutting corners will only cut you down in the prime of your years, good morning dear friends.
