7000 Ghanaians face deportation as US immigration begins mass raid on illegal immigrants. The US government has not hidden its feelings about the presence of illegal immigrants since Donald Trump took office as president. Some 7000 Ghanaians marked for deportation are part of people the US immigration authorities will be dealing with as it begins raiding some cities to arrest and deport individuals illegally residing in the country, Ghanaweb report. Already the US has imposed visa restriction on some categories of government officials for refusing to accept some 7000 individuals marked for deportation to Ghana. Where is this story coming from? I’m American and I can tell you this is not true. Trump did announce via tweet that ICE would do a huge deportation sweep this weekend. However, he later postponed it. Ghanaians were never mentioned. The only thing the government said is that they will be deporting those who have already received deportation orders but did not leave. I really do not believe 7000 Ghanaians are on the list. In fact, only 2000 illegals in total were expected to be deported. 3 Likes |
