The dude's name is: JOEL AGBONAVBARE. He defeated an Indian wrestler in what I consider a great match-up. Wow! You can imagine what it means to defeat an opponent in front of his home crowd. Naija's never-say-die spirit was at play! Unfortunately, another Nigerian by name Talaran Mamman lost to an Australian in a Gold medal match. Earnestly, Nigeria has great potentials in virtually everything including sports to be a first-world country, just that our ACCURSED politicians wouldn't let it be. Note: you can watch the Commonwealth Games live on DSTV Supersports 7. God BLESS Nigeria but DESTROY our corrupt politicians!!! |

and we didnt even prepare. Great job they are doing out there but I dont think the CWG is very competitive. I remember in Manchester 02, we won 10 gold and 10 bronze and we finished 10th overall and at the Athens olympics in 2004, we couldnt win a single gold medal. We could only win two or three bronze medals |

^^^ The only real threat to Nigeria in Commonwealth games are: Australia England Canada South Africa Jamaica And out of these, only 3 have historically had strong sprinters that compete with Nigeria (England, Canada, Jamaica, and maybe T&T). Jamaica is using their C-team for the Commonwealth at the moment. At Olympics, the competition in sprints intensifies when you add: USA Russia France Brazil It is more so as USA is dominant (along with Jamaica now) and there are other developed nations and carribeans with a gem here or there in some activities, so if we are not dominating in Commonwealth sprints, then we should forget Olympics. |
