Reasons You Might Not Be Given Admission Into The University This Year by MrTechy(m): 3:03am On Jun 25, 2019
Jamb has just release this year cutoff mark for admission into the university, polytechnic and college of education, which is 160 for university 140 for polytechnic and 100 for college of education you might be lucky to be above this year cutoff mark. The truth is it doesn’t ends there; they are lots of things that if you don’t get right now you might end up not gaining admission into your university/School of choice or your course of choice.
This 2019 Admission guide is not to scare you, but just to enlighten and give you in-depth knowledge about things most university consider before given admission, so you can correct it now by doing change of course or change of institution, before it gets too late, that’s why you see most aspirants with high jamb score ending up not gaining admission.
2019/2020 Admission Guide For Aspirants
1. Low UTME and Post-UTME Score
This is one great factor that determines if you’ll get admitted into the university this year, apart from the compulsory fact that every aspirant of a university most attain the score 160 or above to gain admission into the university, you’re strongly advice to try and get above the cutoff mark in other to stand a better chance of being admitted this year.
Most university adds your JAMB scores with your Post-UTME scores and divides it by two (2) the result (remainder) is what actually determines if you get admitted. For example, you scored 200 in JAMB and 180 in post-UTME adding it together gives you 380, then divide by two (2) gives you 190. It actually means 190 is your scores, now the question is, can 190 get you admitted in your choice of course? What is the cutoff mark for my course of course in my school?
Solution: I’ll advice you either score high in post-UTME or in Jamb.
2. Wrong Subjects Combinations
Are you ignoring this big mistake? Then you should reconsider, that’s why the jamb brochure is available for you to make reference. The jamb brochure contains courses and it subject combination for all courses.
I have seen as case where the mistake came from the computer operator, to save guide yourself from this mistake after filling your information , simply ask the operator to give you a chance to cross check the forms he or she just fill to avoid error. This mistake can cause you your admission, few cases the victim is given a different course entirely.
3. O’Level Result
This is one place candidates make mistake too, just like the wrong UTME subject combination, the=is has a strong impact on your admission chances, try to have the correct O’level subject combination.
In some cases candidates fail some subject in their O’Level and this disqualify them in their admission quest. I have a friend who had issues in English, he had D7 in English and was applying for mathematics and statistics, even with all the advice he was still telling me as a mathematician the course doesn’t really need mathematics, it was really ignorance on his own path.
4. Adequate Information About The School
In other to have a better chances of gaining admission into your school of choice, you should have fore-hand information about the school, not just only about the school but also about the course it department and faculty you are aspiring to study, this will also help you in avoiding the mistakes listed above.
5. Studying past Questions
Research has proven that, 95% of Post-UTME question comes from past question,, you are always advice to read past question of your school of choice, the subjects you know you’re writing particularly, that’s why we are here, we have all schools post-UTME past questions for just a fee of N500 you can’t get it elsewhere as cheap as this, take this chance and get it plus adequate information about your school.
6. Incomplete credentials during screening
Yes, this can actually cripple your chances of gaining admission. In 2016 the post-UTME aptitude test was scraped out and was replaced immediately with screening of candidates, even though it was later kept as optional, most school still practice screening rather than the well known aptitude test, the screening entails you bring most of your documents like, WAEC Result (O’Level), JAMB original result, Birth Certificate, Local Government of Origin etc. schools differs with information needed. Ask to know if your school is screening candidates or writing aptitude test , not bringing these document might also cripple your chances of gaining admission.
7. Late Registration
I planned adding this factor as bonus with explaining them much; I won’t be doing justice to this point. The world has gone mobile and our schools are not left out in this civilization as most schools if not all have adopted the system of saving data online. Most Aspirants tent to like doing late registration, which could be very dangerous, you are always advice to do every registration on time to avoid server failure due to congestion and other bad things that accompanies late registration. You might end up not having your name on the server of your indenting school
8. Wrong Post UTME Registration
Yes, don’t shake your head, this happens I have seen a lot, a case where a candidate will register make payment for the wrong registration or a candidate will make payment for another student due to the rush in the part of the computer operator. How do I know this? I own a computer kiosk outside my school and the person I employed has brought much of this complains to me. So to avoid this mistake take your time in doing it (that is if you are doing it yourself) or meet an experience person(s) to do it for you.

This information like I said earlier is just to keep you on guide and not to scare you, you can help yourself by applying them. I wish you success in this year admission pursue.

Conclusion
To add to these tips, you are advised avoid anybody asking you to pay money for admission that he or she can give you admission, most of them are fraudsters. Also stay away from quack computer operators who don’t know or have any idea about the school or their application process.
