American actor, playwright, filmmaker, and comedian, Tyler Perry took the Ultimate Icon honour at the BET Awards 2019. Who could have deserved it more than the man who helped stars like Taraji P. Henson to stardom? The main highlight of the event was Perry’s sensational speech that has kept Twitter awake for the past three days. In the speech, Perry narrated his story of helping people ‘cross’ to their desired destination. He also touched briefly on his feats in the movie industry, and the potentials of ‘negroes’ in the White world.
