Concerned Uniben Students in a press release signed on its behalf by Mr kentee osayuki and Barr.iyamu omo made available to journalists in Benin City on tuesday, after a crucial meeting. stated that the call became necessary in view of the monumental fraud that this present outgoing UNIBEN vice chancellor was involve in.

The group in the petition had alleged that the Vice Chancellor was involved in fraud,nepotism, contracts to family members,lawlessness, unlawful appointment and promotion without following due process, as well as defrauding students of millions of naira.,contractors, even to the staff NHIS funds

The group while urging the VC to honourably summit himself to the various institution for independent investigation of fraud levelled against him, noted that the federal government cannot continue to pretend to be against corruption when it had remained silent on several whistle blowing over alleged fraud by the present Vice Chancellor of the institution.

The group also want the Ministry of Education, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to swing into action in order to avoid insinuation of complicity.

The body said it had it on good authority that the UNIBEN management was allegedly moving staff around the Registry and Bursary with a view to possibly doctoring and destroying relevant evidences.

“At this point the BODY has no option but to call on the Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN to honourably summit himself for investigation, in view of the weight of these allegations,This is the civilised practice. In the alternative, the Union calls on the Ministry of Education and the crime authorities to swing into action in order to avoid any insinuation of complicity.

“As we speak, in the wake of the current exposures, the UNIBEN Administration is massively moving staff around in the Registry and Bursary, possibly to be able to doctor or destroy relevant documents! UNIBEN’S regime of lawlessness, corruption and abuse of office has now reached crescendo.

“The institution has also been in the news for several negative stories.one was the massive protest on convocation day stopping notable men and women from the occasion.

The group said with the huge amount generated by the school and the allocation coming in the VC dont have a tangible project he did during the last 3/1 years he resume office.

Every project seen in the compound was projects carried out by former Pc Prof Osayuki Oshodin whose tenure brought progress,employment etc.and that even the lslt buildings that started during prof osayuki oshodin tenure is now a shadow of himself,because the job was taking from the original contractor to another contractor who did rubbish job.as we speak the building and many other buildings completed by him is totally bad.

The group further said the attitude of the Vc and he's wife collection money for jobs is not acceptable and that its time various Agencies wake up and do the needful.
