Is It Safe To Use Weed While Pregnant? by kmaster007: 7:37pm On Jul 07, 2019
The pregnancy period is a very delicate time. However, this has not stopped a number of women from ingesting weed.

Marijuana is what is commonly known as weed. It is also
referred to as pot and is the dried portion of the Cannabis sativa plant. It can be used for both recreational and medicinal purposes.

We already know that most people who use it for recreational purposes are addicts and that is bad but some people may ask, “What of those of us who use it for medical reasons?”

It is not legal to use weed for ANY reason in Nigeria but in some parts of America and other countries, it is acceptable. I recently came across the story of a soldier who was suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder and even the drugs prescribed to her were not working.

The only thing that helped was weed. When she discovered she was two months pregnant, she said that she tried to give up weed but the symptoms came back so she decided to continue using it in small doses.

There other women who use weed during pregnancy to ward off nausea. However, experts say that weed use during pregnancy is not safe, no matter the reason you may have for using it. They have linked it to low birth weight, stillbirth, premature birth, amongst other risks.

Even if you decide to use weed after birth, as long as you are breastfeeding, it can potentially harm the baby. If you are not breastfeeding, the secondhand smoke is not good for the baby either.

The research is not clear on this subject matter yet doctors insist that since there are no standard dosages for medical marijuana then it is not safe for use during pregnancy.

What they propose is that you speak to your doctor and get alternative forms of treatment.
