What a Staggering statistics, what am interested most is the IQ level- Singapore- 1st, China-2nd, the home of Microchips manufacturing

I'm not surprised we are not on this list. And if there were a second and third, we still wouldn't be on them either. The thing is Nigerians are naturally smart. The unfortunate thing is the inability of our government (past and present) to help Nigerians harness the brilliance in them. Dreams/talents die in Nigeria, you know!

Singapore is 25th on the list.

Singapore gained their independence on 1965 so basically Nigeria is 5 years older than Singapore.

By ‘smarter’ you mean reading another man’s literature and reproducing same in an exam hall with the ultimate aim of a bogus prefix before your name?

We celebrate certificates, invest our resources in foreign schools while our own educational system suffer.
We graduate with first class grades but still can’t solve our internal problems.
Lots of doctors but we still travel abroad for treatment , lots of electrical engineers and technicians but we can’t fix our power issues?
Lots of mechanical and civil engineers but we still depend on the Chinese to fix our pot holes, lots of ecological experts but we still haven’t found solutions to our ecological and environmental problems.

It’s not by answering Alhaji Prof Dr or Pastor Engr, Architect, high chief etc.

Peeps are asking Why Nigeria is not on the list?

Just take a look at the past, present and even the upcoming generation of our youths and their governments.

Now ask yourself self if they are smart enough let them in power and even cheer them and even for so long ignore all the rubbish that as been going on in this country from its creation.

So now my people smartness is not by Book alone but by reasoning and enlightenment

U think it's by Yahoo .. only the way in which we support and kill ourselves for those mo.ronic politicians show how dull Nigerians are ... Ur president doesn't even have a certificate to show he attended secondary school and the PhD holders are screaming sai Baba...

The high level of illiteracy is overwhelming, only the north alone has cast a dark cloud over Nigeria as a whole

Nigerians don't GI to school to learn they just memorize for exams and to have a degree prefix before/after their names and never put the knowledge to use .

Nigerians always think they must have the best environment and materials and conditions to innovate.

Let us not worry Nigeria will be still be using fuel powered cars when other countries will be using solar/electric cars

The black man is top in discoveries and inventions around the world, these were people who were carted away with slave trade.

We built all they had, and while we were building they had time to focus on research and deep thinking.

It's an hegemony things. We were and are still being brain drained.

The Caucasian white will never stop. And unless we wake up like the Asians, we will remain here.

All I was saying is the environment paved way for people like Mark Zuckerberg and Philip Emegwali, you cannot take the environmental, societal and economical factors out of a person's success.

I know someone that went for NNPC interview and he said they are still using quota system. If you don't give the best and brightest leadership or position they merited, this country shall remain the same or worse.

It's not racism. Most African countries are backwards technologically. We Nigerians think we smart and sharp but in reality, we are stupid that's why the country is fvcked.

I saw a post on NL of a keke that was reassembled in UNN and sh!t was called electric car. I wished I could hack Nairaland to remove that topic.

Yearly, Nigerian Universities convocate PhD students. But have you asked yourself, how many of these PhD holders have positively changed their environment with research topics they worked on. The major aim Nigerians try to get a PhD, is to upgrade their salaries and the fallacious joy of being called a Dr.
