Google, today, July 21, 2019, decided to remember late Nigerian-born British novelist, Florence Onyebuchi "Buchi" Emecheta OBE. The famous writer died in 2017 at the age of 72. Google honored her today by placing her image as Google doddle, which is often used to recognize astounding occasions or people.
The late Emecheta wrote several famous novels including,
The Joys of Motherhood, The bride Price, Second Class Citizens, The Slave Girls etc.
Emacheta was born in Lagos in 1944 to the family of Alice (Okwuekwuhe) Emecheta and Jeremy Nwabudinke. As a result of gender bias she spent a part of her childhood at home while her brothers go to school. Eventually, she was able to convince her parents to send her to school.

Today, she is often referred to as the first successful black woman novelist that have lived in Britain.

Drop your comment below to honour such a wonderful legend.
